Chrome Roots 39

I played some tunes at the beautiful opening event for Heart Space Copa last week, & this is a home-made version similar to what I played on the night. Chilled & strictly good vibes 😊

Wishing all the best to Sal & the very cool space she's created 🧡

On This Day - 1st of December 1987

On this day... 37 years ago.

1st of December 1987. LL Cool J at the Brighton Centre, supported by Public Enemy & Eric B & Rakim.

This gig was a revelation for an indie kid from Sussex - tabloid moral panic scaremongering about hip hop, so there were metal detectors on the door to stop weapons getting into the venue, a real feeling of danger & that anything could happen. Of course, in reality there were no weapons or bad vibes 😆

Public Enemy in full militant mode with the Security of the 1st World, LL Cool J appearing on stage via a giant ghetto blaster, amazing stuff!
